Export details

How a Scapex export shipment is put together

The same sequence runs behind every destination on this page. It is written out here so you can see what a first order involves before you send an enquiry.

Step 01

Specification and quotation

Send the grade, assay limits, pharmacopoeial or functional standard, quantity and destination port. We confirm what can be met, propose packing, and quote FOB, CFR, CIF or DAP against that specification — normally within one business day.

Step 02

Sample and approval

Where the material has to be qualified before a commercial order, a pre-shipment sample is dispatched by courier with its own certificate of analysis. Larger trial quantities are shipped against the same specification the bulk order will be released to.

Step 03

Order, payment terms and packing

Terms are agreed per order — advance, part-advance against balance on documents, or an irrevocable letter of credit at sight. Packing follows the destination's rules: HDPE drums, carboys, jumbo bags, palletised fibre drums, IBC or ISO tank, with UN-specification packaging wherever the classification requires it.

Step 04

Release and pre-dispatch check

Material is released against the agreed specification with a batch certificate of analysis. Packing, marking, liner, net and gross weights, labelling language and the document set are verified against the order before the container is sealed.

Step 05

Documentation and customs

Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, batch COA, GHS safety data sheet in the destination language where required, dangerous goods declaration and IMDG or IATA paperwork for regulated cargo, plus REACH, Halal, Kosher, food-grade or non-GMO statements where the buyer's market asks for them.

Step 06

Shipment and after-delivery

Booking is made from Mundra, Pipavav, Hazira, Nhava Sheva, Kandla, Chennai or Kolkata according to routing, with air freight for small or urgent consignments. A retained sample is held against the consignment so that any query raised at destination is settled against reference material.

Ports, routing and lead times

West India gateways

Mundra, Pipavav, Kandla, Hazira

The default route for Gujarat-manufactured chemistry. Shortest inland leg from our sourcing base, widest sailing frequency to the Middle East, Africa, Europe and South East Asia, and the usual choice for hazardous and tank cargo.

West and East coast

Nhava Sheva, Chennai, Kolkata

Nhava Sheva for transhipment-heavy routings and consolidated LCL, Chennai for South East Asia and the Far East, Kolkata and Haldia for Bangladesh, Nepal and Myanmar including overland legs.

Lead time

What to plan for

Production and packing normally run 7–21 days depending on grade and quantity, ahead of the sailing time shown on each market page. Stocked grades and part-container quantities move faster; first orders against a new specification should allow for sample approval.

Product catalogue by market

Every product in the Scapex range has a dedicated page for each market, carrying the grade, CAS number, packing, indicative transit and the documents issued for that country’s customs.
